The link listed just a few posts back works! But, if you have questions, I'd call. Group price is $439.95. There is one listed in the classified section.

Thx. I tried that earlier but was having slow internet issues. I'll try again.

Received mine. RV is new so no tunes available yet. Plugged it in to get ECU info. No problems and have forwarded info to 5 Star.
My OBD2 port is not easy to get to. Had to remove one of the lower dash filler panels so I've ordered an extension to make future connections
easier.

Soooooo.....after reading so much about the 5 Star Tune, I've purchased one listed on the classified page. I'm pretty confident that I will be pleased with the shifting changes on our 2012 Bay Star (5 speed transmission). But, we're parked in Florida and won't be hitting the road until mid March, so I'll have to wait to see how it performs.

Are they still honouring this group buy option? Is it the same programmer as the regular one on their page? It seems to have a different SKU.

Thanks
S.

Just call and ask if they will honor/offer a discount for irv members. I did and the answer was yes.

So, after installing the 5 Star Tune while staying in Florida, we returned to Ohio in March. I am very pleased with the performance changes. The transmission shifting is so much better in tow haul mode and it seems to me that acceleration is much better when you need to push it a little to merge on the interstate or thruway. It's a big plus that it will downshift from 5th to 4th and then to 3rd as needed. I now understand why there are so many positive reviews of the 5 Star Tune and would suggest that if you have the 5 speed transmission, it's worth making the investment.

I installed the 5 Star Tune and gave it a short test over the weekend. In town shifts are MUCH smoother now, it doesn't wind to as high an RPM during gentle in town acceleration (yes I realize that power is generated at the higher RPMs, but in the kind of in town driving I normally do I don't need THAT kind of power). It seemed to make it to 45 mph much more quickly (though I don't really understand why that would be). When I first pulled out onto a 45 mph road I was surprised when I glanced down and saw that I was already at 48. I've never timed it, but it SEEMED quicker - for sure it was much quieter and smoother shifting. I was driving in normal mode, not Tow/Haul.

I haven't had it out on the interstate yet, that'll be this weekend when I've got a ~200 mile trip planned, but based on what everyone says I expect that down shifts up grades will be better too. Note that I'm in Florida, so a 'grade' here is really just an overpass on the freeway, other than that it's all flat land around here, no big hills to climb or anything like that.

I'm quite pleased with my initial test, and don't feel a bit bad about the $439 I spent for the tune. To me it's money well spent just to have the quieter in town driving and smoother shifting. I have no reason to expect better mileage, so don't expect any sort of monetary return on my money - I was just looking for a better driving experience and I got that.
