Hey Chris! Loved my 5-star on my 2009 Mustang GT and later my 2011 Winnebago Access Premier 31NP. Traded it in on a 2018 Nexus Phantom 32SC with the MaxxForce 7 diesel.
I restored the Ford V-10 to stock and kept my SCT. Do y'all have any tunes for the MaxxForce 7?

I know a 5 Star tune isn't CARB certified, but the question is whether it will pass just the same or will it be noticed?
From an efficiency/emissions standpoint the tune will operate cleaner than the factory offering. Cannot speak on the tune passing CARB. Will have eo number in future.

I greatly appreciate your feedback on your previous vehicles! Do you have your engine serial number? From there I will be able to check our support offerings for your MaxxForce 7.

Wish I could. The engine serial # is on the back side of the block. Below the driver-side cylinder head. Next to the flywheel.

This is as close as I can get w/o pulling the cab...

I have a 2016 Thor ACE 30.1 with the 6 speed. My Tow/Haul Mode works like it's supposed to. Will the 5 Star really make a big difference in performance?

I can only speak for how it helped me, 2016 22000# chassis. I think the tow/haul works better and when towing I have better performance holding onto 6th gear. I also noticed immediately that it seems a bit more "peppy" in throttle response. This is not a major improvement but what type of performance value you expect for $400-$500 is up to you. I also like having the reader as i was able to clear a code once that never came back.

Is the group buy still on? If so I want to get one also.

I purchased my tuner a month ago.

The deal was still in effect at that time.

Give them a call and ask. The worst they could say is no.

I got mine and installed it back in February of this year. 2008 four winds Hurricane 33H. I tow a enclosed trailer with my racecar inside. We weigh a little under my GCVW of 26,000 pounds.

In April 2017 I towed to my local track, over 2 big hills, only 14 miles from home. Then it sat at the track all summer. I towed very good up those 2 big hills. After September , we towed to Cecil County Dragway in Maryland, about 120 miles, Maple Grove Raceway, in Monton, Pa., about 82 miles one way, and Thanksgiving week , we went to Piedmont Raceway in North Caroline. Piedmont Raceway was a round trip of 970 miles. Some big mountains in Virginia. It towed great!!. Averaged around 6 to 6.5 miles per gallon. Passed a few cars and trucks, and tractor trailers on the hills.

Sometimes if I am on the gas a lot and going up a hill around 65 to 72 mph, and around 5,000 rpm's, and I want it to shift. Because I don't need to pick up any more speed, just want to keep at a steady speed, I have to get out of the gas a lot, and then step back on the gas, to leave it shift. Other wise it works great.

Sorry that I didn't post earlier...

I stopped by 5 Star Tuning today since I live just around 60 miles from them and had them install it for my 2016 F-53 6 speed v-10. I drove home useing the Tow/Haul mode and set it on cruise control. It did seem to hold the gear better on the hills (not many hills between their place and my home), but I did find it a little odd that when I have the cruse control set at 65 mph that it stays in 5th gear at 2500 rpm. It does seem to drive OK like that, but if I want it in 6th gear then I have to go 69-70 mph (2000 rpm).

The problem is if I go fast enough for 6th gear then my mpg drops by 3 mpg (measured by useing Torque Pro app linked to my OBDII port).

I will be going on a 3500 mile trip soon, so will see how it performs.

Did you have to make an appointment?

DGundy

I had called them a few weeks before to make sure I got the Group Buy price and made a appointment, but when I got there they didn't check if I had a appointment, they just got the device, got all the info they needed and installed it. Didn't take long for them to do it. I did get there right as they open, so they weren't busy yet. Just give them a call and let them know when you want to go there.
