Because the diesel costs more initially. The diesel also costs more to maintain. I do all of my own maintenance and I have to do it at home since I retired from my teaching position. Getting rid of the greater amount of diesel oil is also a factor that might bother some.

I counted 15 seconds back to 60 with tuned truck and 10 sec back to 60 with the stock tuned truck. Looks like Ford programmed the PCM to downshift as needed to quickly bring the set speed back to the original set speed vs the tuned truck.

Diesels are fine and all, but if you use your truck as a daily driver around town (with a lot of short trips), and live in cold regions, gas is your best choice.
