The Barker Tote Along Portable Waste Tank Get's An Upgrade

If you have used a portable waste tank that can be towed, you know how ridiculous the narrow and loud hard plastic wheels can be. Barker agrees and has recently upgraded their 42 gallon tote along with pneumatic wheels. These wheels are wider and roll much better on gravel, grass, dirt and pavement. They are also much quieter so now you won't alert the entire campground that your heading to the dump station with your tank in tow.

Don, we also requested this and we should have a wheel kit available shortly. I will post as soon as I have details.

I converted my rear wheels and tires over to the large airless solid type years ago.

I purchased them from Orchard Supply Hardware.

I also added a vent to the top back near where the 3 inch hose attaches. When using the float gauge there was no way to vent the tank when filling.

I used the same hose cutoff for a vent. I also used a screened washer so it could be left open to dry without insect intrusion. BTW, it allows an easy way to vent if starting to bloat from heating in the sun.
Been wanting to do the wheel switch out for some time. Picked up the 10inch, tubed tires at Harbor Freight today. $8.54 total for the pair (tax included, 60% off coupon).

Would the front wheels on the swivel handle benefit from an upgrade?

I have also replaced my wheels with pneumatic tires from Harbor Freight Tools. My front tires are hard rubber purchased from Grainger. The axle end locking caps were purchased at the local Ace Hardware store. Very quiet and I can roll over grass and dirt easily. I have the Barker 42 gallon super tote which is awesome!

Does the white handle on the new Barker fold flat or can it be removed? It seems like it would be hard to stow with be handle like that.

It has always been removable. Look closely at the photo in post #1, you will see a pull-pin that you remove to stow the handle.

Bill - Post back when Barker markets one that will empty our black tank into the tote, roll itself to the dumpstation & return empty, ok?
