When I had internal sensors installed in my 5er and truck, they had to completely remove the tire. There was no way for their machine to push the tire down far enough to insert them. Your's may be different, but I couldn't get my hand in there to put them in. If they don't re-balance, at least get them to mark the current tire location on the rim.

Now bear in mind that these are internal sensors and they are sitting on my dash. Maybe once I get them installed and they have air pressure they will show on the monitor . Or Dan will chime in .

Hello Sir,

The internal sensors program the exact same way as our external sensors.

Typically, when a sensor drops off or coding is lost, it is usually because you did not hit the (SET) key to save the code.

Also, as previously mentioned by one of our customers, if you hold your sensor that you are coding too close to the other sensors, the system can pick up a sensor other than the one you are programming.

The system will also erase duplicate codes as the system simply will not read the same sensor in two different positions on the same rig.

Please take great care to ensure that your sensors are all coded prior to installaton.

Well after several hours, I got the internal sensors installed . It took a little redneck engineering, but I have a MASTERS DEGREE in this department.

First tire to be broken down was the inside dual Passenger side. For you with Alcoa Aluminum wheels, the inside wheel is steel not aluminum. The valve stem hole is larger in the steel wheel than it is in the aluminum wheel. The sensor nut went completely through the hole.
After a quick call to Dan at TST , (what did I do wrong?) we decided to remove the sealing rubber O ring off a new valve stem, place it on the sensor and add a washer to fill in the gap and tighten it down. This is something that TST needs to address in the sensors they sell. Not a big problem, but if you don't have a MASTER'S in redneck engineering, it may be a big problem.

Next we moved on to the outside tire and every thing fit "like socks on a Rooster". We decided to use the small valve stem and let it point outward rather internal as the OEM had installed. This makes it a whole lot easier to check and fill with air.

No problems with the other tires, once we figured out the solution for the over sized hole.

As for the disappearing tire on the monitor, I reprogrammed the sensors as the tire were filled with air and all showed up as they were supposed to. On the trip home, everything worked flawless and once again I am a happy camper.

For those who are wondering about the internal sensors and programming them. They can be programmed once they are mounted in the tire. NO PROBLEM.

The only problem that I encountered and that is not TST fault. The inside dually has a metal extension off the 3" valve stem. This extension is 4" and fits through the rubber holder inserted in the outside tire. The TST internal valve stem is 3" but when mounted does not allow a full 3" closer to 2". So the 4" extension is short in the outside tire. Maybe a 4" sensor valve stem vs 3" or a 5" extension. Any idea where I can get a 5" extension? All I see on line are the 4".

My system is now about 18 months old. And previously it's worked like a charm on both my rig and my TOAD for transmitting data.

Now I have several that have dropped off-line. For example, the right front rig unit transmit's temp but no air pressure, the TOAD left rear transmits nothing (and it's been reset twice - and moved locations & recoded), and two others only transmit on a spotty basis. One was removed because it caused the tire to lose air (and yes, we installed it, removed it, installed it, removed it...you get the idea).

Are the transmitters perhaps having battery issues, and / or what could be the problem and possible solutions? I love my system, but don't want to replace the entire thing from scratch.

I had one of my 507 sensors quit at 6 months. It was just the battery.

I just "Summerized" my MH and took them all off. They only transmit when they sense tire pressure.

Finally installed my 510's but I am not installing the 4 on the Wrangler toad. They are so big they look bad on there. That doesn't bother me though because if I go 4 wheeling I would probably have broken one off anyway. If I keep these as spares, do the batteries run down if not connected to a tire?

AFAIK, The batteries are dormant without pressure applied to the sensor. Now that said when you are programming the display, the sensor is brought in close proximity to the display and the code of the sensor is read. Whether the sensor is minimally powered or the display sends out a transponder signal to the sensor to scan the address is up in the air for me at the moment.

Are you running our 507 or our 510 system? The reason I ask is simply that the battery life expectency on our 507 (user replaceable battery system) is only one year.

Hello all, installed my TST 507rv - set up went pretty well, and happy with it. Ok now the questions- we dropped the trailer and it continued to read trailer wheels for 30 mi or more????
We did lose our reading at a truck stop it started beeping- I was thinking maybe interference with a GPS???
