I purchased the TST TPMS 6 system with 4 additional sensors for my toad 6-24-14. I made one round trip of 130 miles last October and all sensors worked fine. I removed all 10 for winter and stored them on the original box in the motor home. When I reinstalled them for a trip on 6-14-15 the outer right dual would not give a reading. I placed the monitor right next to the wheel and still got no readings. I thought driving might jar it into working but after repeating the 130 mile trip it still doesn't work. I assume the internal battery died or the sensor failed.

Bob, there are a lot of people on this forum happy with the TST Systems product. I have used mine for two seasons now. I have to say that the owner of the company is determined to back up the product, so I certainly don't want to imply that he isn't going to make it good for you.
Having said that, I have experienced intermittent sensor problems on my trip this year. One sensor has alarmed because of high temperature. I stop and feel the tire and it's only warm, the same as the other tires. That happened twice this trip.
Another sensor has dropped out altogether about three times during my vacation this year.
I called TST and was told they need to evaluate the sensors. Since they are intermittent, I'm not sure that they will fail while being tested. Besides, I'm still vacationing, and don't want to send them to TST. When I get home, I have to decide if it will just be wasted postage because I would be surprised if they failed while being tested.
They are not "Space Shuttle Certified" I suppose. Not surprisingly, they are going to present problems during a vacation, no matter how carefully I check them out before departure. But they are certainly better than nothing.
Dave.

Mike, would you please clarify what the temperature display means. Is this the temp inside the tire, or the ambient air temperature outside the sending unit?

The high temp could be generated from you wheel. Next time it gets high put your hand on the wheel next to the sensor. Or it might be your brakes were rubbing or it could have been a wheel bearing.
Oh, BTW, I've been running this system before TST took it over, love it.

Had the 507 system on our '02 Dutch Star, took it off when we traded it in in Feb. and keeping it in reserve for when the SmarTire system quits.
Well, last week one of the SmarTire sensors would only show 14 psi but I knew it had 100 psi more in it.
So, I guess I'll have to buy a few more sensors for the TST system and get it out of the box again. Need to add two more sensors for the tag and four more for the towed since there's no way I can tell if the towed has tire trouble with the weight of the Magna.

I received the new sensor last Monday and finally got around to installing today. My wife had knee replacement Monday so I've been kind of busy. The sensor works fine so now all 10 are working. Thanks Mike for fantastic customer service. I wish more companies were like TST.

Hello Rick and Sandy,
The sensors read the temp inside the tire +/- 2 degrees f or c.
Thanks,
Mike Benson

Thanks Mike, so now we know that there won't be any surprises caused by pressure leaks or temperature spikes (tread separating?)
Now if you can perfect an anti-puncture coating, we'll have it made~

For the fist time I finely got everything working correctly. It seems I can't read directions and every time I thought I had it set correctly the alarms would start because of improper setting. So if you are having issues try watching the you tube video. Some day I really must learn to read.
