Hi, you did an amazing restoration.

I have a 2000 Dutch Star 3856. We have had it door years and it takes care of us with only required maintenance.

It appears we have similar floor plan. I am starting my slower restoration.

I notice you change the walls from vinyl to wood panel. I know there are wood ribs in the walls, how did you adhere the panels to the body framing? Also did you recolor your cabinets or replace?

Thanks

Roger

We used rustoleum cabinet transformation on cabinets to two tone them,,,
Also,, we used oil based enamel paint right over the vinyl on the walls,, we used a product called Gripper on first coat.
On this coach it has aluminum tubing for sidewall framing,,,welded joints. Then plywood sheeting with vinyl on that. They use a special adhesive to glue plywood to alum studs,, i did find it online before we found a way to just paint the ugly old outdated vinyl.

Banks tune

Khi1500

Do you have the Cummins 300 hp engine? Can you tell me more about what the Banks tune did for your engine? Thanks.

Yes 300 hp cummins isb
It ran real good and had respectable pull on the hills,, but it was marginal on the power when you needed it.
The banks has 6 levels of power and it woke it up to where if a want to pass a slow moving semi going up a hill,, it just gets right after it!!
The banks never takes the engine out of the factory parameters,, its just how it controls air, fuel, transmission that makes the difference.
It cost 2200$ and i installed it muself in 7 hours, not a problem out of it at all. Love it!!
More than likely the best money we have spent on coach,, well worth it!!!

Outstanding Job, I'd hire you! Which sewing machine do you use. I do marine canvas work on a Juki DNU1541 and the first project I did was make a complete set of sun shades for windows and tires for my coach. Looking at other interior projects this winter. Again What a Great looking interior!!

I bought a sailrite fabricator from sailrite in indiana,,, first time ever sewing!!!
It cost 1350$,, but they wanted 1750$ to just do the couch,, so we bought our own machine,,,, we took out all the old funky trim and replaced it with vinyl leather...
Did window coverings too,,, lots a hours on couch but we love doing most evetything outselves!!!

Thanks, great info. My Dutch Star is constructed the small way.

Also for vinyl there is a product recommended by my restoration shop called S.E.M. They have several products for changing colors of dash boards, consoles, seats etc. Hope that helps you.

Did you use stencils for trees etc. and decals for wood accents. More pics please. You guys should be interior decorators.

Great job!

Thanks for sharing. I learned a few new things just by reading this that I may be able use in the future.

I also love the drop-leaf table.
