05 Dynasty Baroness vs. 08 Allegro Bus

I am considering my first dp and have a couple that I like. I know the original owner of an 05 (late in model year) dynasty 42 tag countess that has been garage kept and and also looking at an 08 allegro bus single axle and don't know owner but in excellent condition. any advice between these two coaches? i am leaning toward dynasty b/c it seems to be a step up even thought it doesn't have a couple of the creature comforts that the bus does -dish washer/king bed.

The Dynasty is a higher level luxury model than the Bus, but both are excellent coaches. With the Bus being 3 years newer, it may have some gadgets the Dynasty does not, but often those can be added if they are a decision factor.

The real question is which floor plan and set of amenities works best for your wants & needs?

As stated, the Dynasty is more coach, and a great chassis as well. Easy to add some of the newer updates.

Drive the Allegro and the Dynasty for a minimum of 30 min each on an Interstate. I think you may find the tag Dynasty will surprise you with ride difference over the non-tag bus.

It has to be a coach that you can live with first. But from pure mechanical side of the equation, the 05 Dynasty chassis with tag IMO will provide you a longer term foundation. Making mods, and refreshing a coach at this level, will provide you and opportunity to make this into 'your coach'.

Not knocking the Allegro, but it is not in the same league. But, opinions will vary...

By the way, the 42' is a nice size, still under the 45' level that requires extra drivers licenses in some states, and that 2' over a 40', gets back a full bay and usually a larger set of Grey/Black total capacity. The one possible downside to the Dynasty is if it is the ISL, it could be on the lower side of the power to weight ratio then if the ISL is in the Allegro. Even so, I'd just enjoy myself and go a bit slower up those hills in the Dynasty...

Last factor is important. You know the owner, you know it was garage kept, and you should have all documentation available for you - that's real nice to have.
Best of luck,
Smitty

Thank you all for your replies. It does not have residential fridge or king bed but other than that it has a great floorplan for my wife and I and our two young children. It is a countess not Baroness

A residential fridge is an easy enough upgrade, if that's what you want. A couple thousand dollars ought to do it.

A king bed may or may not be a practical upgrade, depending on the existing floor plan. Usually it can be done, but the details can be hell when fitting in a physically larger bed in a small space. Take some measurements, with the slide both in and out and see. Probably some side cabinets will need to be removed, but the length is the critical factor.
