Hello,

Hoping I can get some good advice. We're looking at a 2006 HR Endeavor 40 PDQ that is very nice and immaculate. It's with a dealer, so we can trade our current MH. Even though we'll take a hit on trading, the fact that it's quicker and easier is attractive to us.

We weren't going to consider a 2006 as we currently have a '07, so in some way, our thoughts are we're "going down", but we stumbled on this one and thought it is a really nice MH. It has 38k miles. We currently have an entry level, budget MH (Mandalay Valencia), so we would definitely be going up in fit, finish, feel, weight, etc. Most importantly, we're going up in power, which is really why we're trading. If ours had more power, we'd stay with what we have. We're in the process of seeing about maintenance records, tire dates, etc., so, of course, that will factor into the decision making process.

I guess what I'm needing is some feedback that for the right deal and if all the other things line up just right (records, etc.), that buying a '06, which makes it 8 years old, isn't a bad decision.

We're also looking at a '08, but I'm putting that question in another thread.

If the maintenance has been kept up then this could be a great coach for you.its a well equipped medium level coach. The only weak spot could be the rear radiator which needs frequent cleaning. The Roadmaster 8 air bag chassis is a good one with a long track record. Check the tire dates and any service records available. Check the engine serial number with Cummins to see if it was in a batch of engines with a possibility of a wrist pin issue.

Good luck in a possible new purchase, but if it's power you are looking for and you like your current RV, I would suggest you think about a Bank's system. We put one on our 2004 Adventurer and it made all the difference in the world. My husband said he felt like a teenager again with all that power. We could climb the Grapevine (a long & steep mt range. in CA) and instead of truckers passing us like we're sitting still--we could pass the truckers doing 55-60 MPH with no trouble.

Thanks for the replies. Steve, we'll check about the possible wrist pin issue. Diane, from what I understand, the fact that we have a 5 spd. transmission prohibits us from
doing anything about more power. Glad it worked for you. That would definitely be the way we'd go if we could.
