07 Pace Arrow engine cover

I have a 2007 Pace Arrow model 36D on a Workhorse chassis with the 8.1 Vortec engine. Need to get to the AC compressor on the engine. Would like to get at it from the top as there isn't much room underneath. How do I get the engine cover (dog house) off. Thanks in advance for any help!

There are screws in the base of the doghouse. You have to pull the carpet over and remove the screws in the doghouse base. the base has putty to seal it against water intrusion. You have to cut through the putty and remove the base.
