Take it to a recycling center or post an ad on Craigslist for a scrapper. (safety first)

I presume it still works, right? Put it on Craigslist as "free stuff". Gone in an hour.

Donate it to goodwill and take the tax break.

Good Will and the Salvation Army both have limits on the age of TVs that they will accept. Might want to check with them before hauling it to one of them.

Late last year in Maryland, Salvation Army and Goodwill both would not accept any tube type TV. They claimed no one wanted them and they were considered hazardous waste. We had a nice 30" "flat screen" tube type TV that worked very well and we had to give it away to someone who wanted it.

We donated ours to our church. They are always needing TV's for use with VCR's & DVD's in classrooms.
