12V ceiling fan installation

Just bought a 12V ceiling fan to replace manufacturers light fixture. The fan assembly went in OK. The switch is on our bedside wall and the wires are connected according to the instructions from Global Electric LaSalle Bristol of Elkhart, IN. They implied that the white wires are negative and the yellow are positive. It's not working. Any ideas?

Hmmmmm..... those colors and polarities sound right. Have you measured the voltage on them? There's not a dimmer on there is there?

No dimmer on the switch. Attached the red and black incoming wires to the switch to the hot side of the bedside wall light (12v) ran the switch blue and white wires up to the fan motor blue and white. The fan motor has a green/yellow single 16 gage wire attached to the side of the motor housing. I innitially connected the green/yellow wire to the ceiling light yellow wire and the white ceiling wire to the switch white wire at the motor (three wire connection). Turned on the wall ceiling light switch to put power to those wires alos. nothing. Then tried it after disconnecting the ceiling light wires, nothing. Bedside light has power and so does the ceiling light connections. Fuses and OK.

There is no standard color code for 12v wiring, so check those ceiling wires for polarity. You can test each of them to a known ground with a voltmeter to be sure.
