What was his mileage after the tow truck dropped him off?
The guy that I bought my coach from said that the best he got was 15 mpg.(350 cummins).
I told him he was full of it. The best I have got is 9 and if there are any hills or wind it goes down with the severity of the hill or wind. The worst i have got was 6.
So if you add 9 and 6... Maybe he was right! Ha Ha.

The only class A I know of that will come close to that is a Winnebago Via and it's diesel! (And 25ft). The only gas MH I ever had that got that kind of mileage was a 1998 Winnebago Rialta which was a C class, could be considered a B+, some called it a B.

Our '07, same chassis, averaged 6.5, maybe7 on a good day, towing a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. 14 - 15 is pure fairy tale territory.

On my last 3 long trips in my 33 ft. Ford V10 Class A, I averaged 9.17, 9.41 and 9.58. The 9.17 mpg round trip average was taken over 3744 miles. But then again, I set the cruise at 55 and don't have the foot feed to the floor going up grades.

I agree with "Gordon Dewald", I think a lot of people figure their mileage by guessing what they got by how low their tank was, vs pencil and paper hard numbers.

If your class-C gets 8 mpg on a good day, well you already know what the class-A's will get. Look at the Workhorse with the Allison tranny, too. I prefer the class-A's with the 22.5 tires. More storage, better ride, and the tranny makes a difference with towing and mountain driving.

For the folks that say their trips are downhill both ways, well our trips seem to be uphill both ways! Maybe that is the price I pay for living in the Colorado mountains. . . . .

On a more serious note, I would definitely not buy a m/h from this guy, as he will lie about other more important items... oil changes, etc, etc.

I had a dealer BS me about mileage at RV show claiming 12-14 on 34' V10.
I complained to his manager who claimed over 10 mpg as she drove them back from factory. LMAO
Not a chance. Even my V10 pickup never got better than 12.
6-8 mpg is typical, not bad considering it weighs 8x as much as my CRV which gets 29 mpg tops.

That kind of mileage is possible. Downhills and with a stiff tail wind!

The best I ever got with our B+ Winnie was 9 and that's not towing, with a tailwind. If I tow, I'm lucky if I pull 8. I have gotten as little as 6.6, towing and headwind.

He could be thinking of 6 on his A, and 22 on his toad, for a total of 28, averaging 14? Right !
