'14 American Revolution, where's the outside temp display on the dash?

Gents,
[moderator edit]

A buddy of mine recently purchased a '14 American Revolution, 43'. It's on a Freightliner Chassis and, sports a 450HP ISL Cummins. We flew from Las Vegas NV to Ohio to pick it up and drive it home. While on our trip home, both him and I, while each other was driving, tried like heck, to find the outside temp display. On our coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD, on a Freightliner XC Chassis and, the C-7 33HP CAT, we have a small LCD display that shows both the compass direction and, the outside temp.

But, on his coach, which is about TWICE as expensive as ours, there seems to be no display of any outside temp. There is a small screen that both of us tried to scroll through by pushing the arrows and, could not bring any up. Can anyone help here? Is there an outside temp display and, if so, how to get at it?We'd surely appreciate it.
Scott

Scott....I have a 14' Freightliner chassis (XCR) and my temp display is in that little window on the dash. I have three rows. One has Date/Time, I run one showing "LEG" mpg and the third shows the temp and I believe compass.

It should be there. Some of those windows aren't accessible unless the coach is stopped and the Parking Brake is engaged. Hopefully, he has the Freightliner Manual. It has a matrix for all the windows and how to get there.

I need to change the date on mine and I'm struggling on how to access it. I've done it several times, I just forget the sequence and I'm too lazy to get the book out. I'll conquer it today....my challenge for today.

easy, every RV has one, just open the driver window and stick your hand out

if it's cold, you'll know

if it's raining, you'll know

tee hee

but seriously, why is the outside temp so important?
Isn't it the INSIDE temp that's to be concerned with?

My Freightliner manual advises that the outside temperature and compass direction require a module that is an option from Freightliner. If the coach builder didn't specify it you could investigate a retrofit. This module feeds into the information center discussed above.

Hey gang,
I most certainly appreciate the help here. And, when I get back to my buddy with the coach, I'm sure he'll appreciate it too. We'll have to dig around his manuals and see if that coach was supplied with all the components to have an outside temp displayed in the LCD window in or on the dash. Then, go navigate around on the controls for that LCD and see if it's there. Thanks again.

On my Freightliner dash there is a small circle just to the right of center that has temp and compass.
