1979 transvan inverter

I just bought a 1979 transvan by Dodge/Champion. I need to fix the inverter. Who can talk to me about a diagram or basics to check this?

When you say inverter then you got a battery bank to invert 12V to 120V to power plugs and it's not making 120volts or the 12volt lights not working

Well if it is a transformer type step down from 120volt a/c to 12 volt dc and it is blowing fuses it probably has shorted diodes or a SCR. Will need a ohm meter and some knowledge on what to look for.

That is a CONverter, not an INverter. Basically just a battery charger. It's pretty simple, a transformer to drop from 120 to 12v and a rectifier to change the AC toDC.

What brand is the converter?Should say somewhere on its cover of frame.

Welcome to the group! Ya we need to know if its a converter(120 to 12v) or a inverter(12v to 120). And if you can make/model of it. Stop in and say hi at the vintage group.
