I need a lift of 44.7 inches so I've got that covered.

Are your doors automatically activated? If so, what actuators did you use?
No actuated doors, as I really don't need that functionality.

Many times the manufacturers will use a light gag sheet metal in the walls as backers for attaching window dressing, cabinets, interior wall connections and it is possible you wre picking up these with the magnet.

Thanks everyone. As it turns out I can take my time. The estimate given for installing the lift and doors was out this world at 125 hours. I've been around the block once or twice and I know it should take about half that time. [also based upon similar work previously done on my bus] I'll just hire a local guy to dismantle the interior to expose the frame work and go from there.

I will likely use the fabricator I used before, then find someone to do the electrics.

For those who may be interested, there is a steel frame in the wall which will support the double door assembly I have in mind. The experts at the RV place were entirely incorrect.
