Exclamation 1995 Safari

We have a 1995 Safari. We never seem to have issues with our power, except when we come to California?! I'm sure this is just coincidence. When we plug in, either to 30 or 50 amp service, our entire coach does not work properly. Our over head lights in the kitchen will not work. The lights on the convection come on, but we cannot run it. The TV doesn't work, but there is power coming to it because when we try to turn it on, you can here it clicking over and over to try to power up. Our air conditioner works and I can use the coffee pot, hair drier etc. When we turn on the inverter, all the coach works, but only if we shut off the power from the post. We are totally at a loss as to what it can be?? We just came from Bend Oregon and everything was fine even when just at a 30 amp site. Does anyone have any suggestions?! Should we leave our inverter on all the time? We have had people say yes and no. We are new to the Coach world and need some help!! Thank-you!!

You have answered your plight. It is the connection at the campground. May not be grounded or voltage not correct. I would disconnect from the campground power and get the manager down to the site to check it out

So you don't think it is an issue with the Coach itself? So we have been there for three days now, so do you think we could have caused any damage to the unit leaving it plugged in there?? We did try another site in the same campground but the same issue remains...

Your coach's wiring is not 'CARB' legal!

No, actually trackman has it right, the campground wiring is faulty.

I do but am not sure how to load them on this site?? Thanks everyone so much for their information, you were right! We moved on to a new campsite and everything works great, although now... when we shut off our coach, the break alarm goes off. Our breaks were just done, so am wondering if maybe it could be dust from the road causing this??

Not sure about your coach, but I'm thinking the brake alarm means no 'parking brakes' .

Your problem happened to us in Oregon.

The front tv went on the fritz. So we went to town and bought a new one.

Then, we learned that the campground hookup was the culprit.

Rving is a lesson per day!

Yo BLSCOTT, I hope you are aware of the 3 different Safari Specific Websites, Safari-International.ORG and two different Yahoo forums. Drop on over to the Zoo's, real helpful & nice Safari-ites folks
