1996 Allegro Diesel Bus

I have owned several motor homes and am now considering buying a 1996 Allegro Bus with about 75 K miles. I does have a living room slide. What can you tell me about this RV. Is th 230 HP engine sufficient.

I don't know where or how you will be using the coach. If you are planning to be in the mountains and pulling a heavy toad the 230hp will be a bit on the small size. Flat lands and no tow vehicle, it should be fine. JMO.

Which model and which transmission?

We have a 97 M35 with slide that's been in the family since new and the 5.9 230HP with the Allison 6 speed and has done a great on the highways and OK in the mountains over the years. (Folks with the 4 speeds are not as happy with there performance. )

IDK if the larger buses would do as well as our M35 however, I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Now if your planning on towing an H1 you need to look for a different rig 5K is all your allowed.

I recommend you test drive it and see if it does what you what it to do you may be surprised.
