I bought the Equus 3145 OBD 1 Ford Code Reader as suggested here. Apparently when the smog was done the a few years ago the plug (receptacle) was disconnected from the motor cover and tucked in with other wires. I finally located it a few minutes ago. The smog technician couldn't find it 2 years ago. When I look at the location of the prongs on the reader and the receptacle I'm not sure the code reader will plug in. I attached a couple of photos that I hope are clear enough to help. It was hard to reach in there to get the photo.

That certainly looks like a 460 ODB1 receptacle. The reader should have spade clips which will go into those slots. Because of the shape, they can only go together one way, just try it to see if it fits.
