1997 P-30 Auto-Brake wont reverse.

I am beating a dead horse but I need help!! I have read several forums on this subject. I am unable to go in reverse due to the Auto Brake, it does not disengage until the gear selector goes to neutral. Is there an adjustment? I filled the resivoir on the parking brake assembly. What should I do?? Please help!! I have a 1997 Coachmen Mirada. Thanks!!

There is an adjustment for this linkage. You will have to get under the coach. It is part of the gear shift linkage. If you look closley at the linkage ends, you will see two small holes in them. adjust the linkage so that you can put a drill bit through both holes. This is at the point where the steering column comes through the floor.

Send a PM to oldusedbear on this forum, he is the auto park break expert, he sent me multiple emails with info on the system and how to adjust, first you need to be sure it's not a sending unit or other issue before you make any adjustments. If you PM me With your email I'll forward what he sent me.

I had a 1995 P30 that would not go into reverse. I no longer have the unit so I don't have the paperwork. However, my problem had something to do with an electronic unit. I had the repair done at a Chevrolet dealer in Albuquerque (again don't remember the name) and when I called and described the problem they knew exactly what was wrong as they had encountered the problem before.
