1998 Fleetwood Southwind Chevy Chassis

As I was doing routine maintenance I removed the heater core inlet and outlet heater hoses located (under the hood )upper left firewall. Decided to replace aged hoses..as I removed the other end of hoses I lost track of which hose connected to the heater core inlet and outlet. They are not marked . Can anyone with a P 32 series chevy chassis identify which is inlet which would be the long hose connected to engine thermostat. or outlet which would be connected to the radiator. Please identify the heater core inlet / outlet connection...picture of connections to heater core attached. Someone having this type connection on Fleetwood chevy p series chassis may trace hose connection to radiator and engine connections. appreciate your effort..thanks Oran

Not sure it really matters since it is just hot water going through the core to make heat. I don't think it is directional for any reason but I may be wrong.

Service manual states not to reconfigure hoses for some reason the transmission may overheat while thermostat is closed. I suppose trans cooling comes partly from the core. reverse flow would not be as efficient until the thermostat opened .

Hmmm ok, so.the "book" says don't reverse them, but doesnt say, how they should be configured?

I doubt very seriously the trans oil gets cooled through the heater core, sounds ridiculous to me

It does not matter how u run the hoses to the core

Service manual says to configure them engine thermostat to inlet..radiator to outlet...doesn't say anything about how inlet and outlet is configured on the motorhome some maybe horizontal like mine...or some maybe verticle. I tend to agree doesn't matter but cant argue service manual requirement

Thanks all ...issue resolved!...the inlet is on the left and outlet on the right. I was able to determine that the radiator hose connected to the right core connection by the knife marking on outlet nipple when I split the end for removal. the other was obviously the inlet from the thermostst..THANKS AGAIN
