First I want to say welcome! I have a 1999 Georgie Boy Cruisemaster. Mine is on the F53 stripped chassis frame. I thought they used the P30 on the smaller, 30 footers. Anyway, how many miles are on the coach? They may just need to be adjusted. Sorry I couldn't help more but wanted to say hello.

Sounds like you have the Chevy P series chassis which has the infamous J71 Auto Apply Parking Brake (AAPB) there is free expert help that should help you learn all about that system HERE: AutoPark parking brake system help, troubleshooting, and repair

The J71 AAPB is mounted on the DS immediately behind the tranny.

Have the exact same year and model, learn all you can about the autopark system before it gives you some major problems. Ours works good, but I have replaced and/or rebuilt several components to get it where I feel comfortable with it. It is simply a drum brake on the rear of your tranny, I think the brake shoes should be able to be adjusted for more holding force.

It sounds like someone may have backed off the adjustment on the brake drum, be careful adjusting it, if the over adjust so that it rubs while the brake should be off it can generate a lot of heat and start a fire. Someone on one of the forums lost a coach about 3 years ago due to a fire from the APB drum brake, after having a truck shop in Nevada adjust it.

I would suggest replacing the GM pressure switches with Brazel's / Ultra RV's upgraded switches, it is an easy fix and solves many of the common failure problems with the automatic parking brake. https://www.ultrarvproducts.com/Ultr...ch-Upgrade-Kit

There are two switches in the auto brake that cause a ton of grief in the auto park system. Replace them both (and put an extra set in your spare parts because if one goes bad on the road you can be stranded!).
It is a notorious problem, in fact it was in a fairly recent MotorHome Magazine article.
I just replaced my switches (you can see if fluid is seeping into them) and one was starting to have fluid in them, even though it had not failed. The old ones are now my emergency spare.

Ultra RV products sells a kit with both switches and a new pump relay. I had the pump relay fail on me this year stranding us close to home, luckily the wife was kind enough to short the 2 jumper wires I put on for the relay and got us home. You should also look into installing the 3 light Genie system, it will give you advance warning of Autopark issues before they get really bad.

Thank you all for your replies after reading all the post and speaking with Ultra over the phone I went ahead and purchased the switch upgrade kit. I had seen a write up that the original switches should be changed ever three years. It only made sense to purchase the upgrade with a life time warranty and 1 million cycles. I will keep you all posted once completed.
