1999 Forest River Gasser, What can I expect in MPG?
New to RVing, I recently purchased a 1999 Forest River Windsong 370, 37 foot, with a tag axle, Vortec 454 with a 4l80e transmission. I had had it in the shop and had all the little bugs and known problems fixed. The auto-park being the biggest issue. We are finally going on our 1st trip next month, and I am just curious as to what kinda MPG i will see out of this coach. I'll will be pulling a 2800 lbs Honda insight. Thanks.

For figuring for a trip I use 6 mpg. That kind of takes care of everything ie: mountain road and winds.

OK, I' hoping this uploads a photo. only one I currently have of the rig, taken when we picked it up at the rv dealer, it was a trade in that I feel I got a fantastic deal on.

since our purchase we have gotten to make 2, 10 day trips, one to Florida and one to New Orleans, both reasonably flat routes and I got a little over 9 mpg round trip, I'm completely satisfied with that. end of this month were heading up to Nashville, then over to the Smokies, overall I've been happy with the RV, I figure use it maybe 2 more years and then upgrade to a diesel.

wow, that is good gas mileage. Our summer trip was just over 2700 miles and included mountains in PA and NC and flat land in MI and OH as some rolling hills in MD, VA, KY. For the trip we averaged right around 7 towing our Equinox toad. Low was around 6.5 doing the mountain areas and 7.5 on the flattest sections. We have the Ford V10 and a 5 star towing tune and use tow haul mode for almost all driving when the toad is attached.
Enjoy the new MH. They aren't much fun sitting in the driveway!!!!!!

We just went from Oregon to Alaska 2900 miles in a 37' Fleetwood Pace Arrow V-10 and averaged 7.5 mpg. We got as low as 6 and as high as 9. Not towing anything.
