1999 winnebago chieftan

Hello, I am new to the motorhome world. I just purchased a 1999 36ft chieftan from a dealer. I bought it as is for a smoking deal. I am having an issue with the 12 volt system. Everything works great while the generator is running, but when I turn it off, I lose all power to lights, fridge etc. I have searched everywhere I can think of to locate some kind of main power switch but cant find anything. There is a aux power switch on the dash but I just hear a click, and still nothing works when I push it. Is there another switch somewhere or do I need to replace something? Thanks..

Hello and . We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward t reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy the website and forums. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted.
Make certain that the house (Aux) batteries are charged, connected to the proper cables, the fuse or circuit breaker is good and the ground cable is bonded to the frame. There are two sets of batteries. One is the chassis (starts engine and runs most dash equipment and the House or Aux batteries that runs the stuff you are loosing when the generator shuts down. The click you hear is the solenoid that should be connecting these batteries to the system. It can click and still not make internal contact but lets trust it is OK for now. Is there good charged batteries installed?

Yes I tested all the batteries. I did find the problem. I was testing the circuit breakers, and I found a loose wire in the main breaker for the coach. I got about 3 turns to tighten the screw and everything works perfect now!! Thank you all for your help and input!!
