1st Tire Blow Out Part 2

It was a bright sunny day around 70 deg. I was traveling down the interstate doing around 60 miles per hour when the blow out happen. I remove my foot from gas and started to go for the brake, but stopped and put my foot back on the gas and slow it down while moving to the side of the road. Had no jerking or pulling to either side. My tires are Firestone F5 560 plus radial tire with a load range of G. The date on the DOT is 2410. These are the tires that came with the motorhome when I brought it. I hope this helps

You did do the right thing because the end result was you stopped safely. In my years of trucking I have had several front blowouts and they all don't act the same way. The Michelin clip is great advice but may not always be the right way.

Seems to me this situation ended with no one hurt, no damage to anything but the tire, and no blockage of the roadway . . . . Exactly how could the situation have been handled that would have resulted in a better outcome?!?

Good topic. I for one needed to review this subject as a fairly new RV owner. Even if I did spend close to 5k on new tires last year .
