2001 Pace Arrow problems
I have owned my Vision for about eight months now and am slowly working through the few problem areas in the MH. There are a couple things I could use a bit of expert advice on. Keep in mind that I have owned an A class for a short period of time, and that I am not very experienced with electricity and the things that allow it to make our lives easier. But I'm learning, due to the inherent nature of motor homes.
First thing may seem a little bit simple, and all can feel free to chuckle a bit on this one.
Where is my horn?
No, it's not on top of the cab, it's not an air horn and it's not an electric horn that looks like an air horn.
I have spent quite a bit of time looking under the "hood", an on a creeper looking up under and around EVERYTHING from below. Nothing that resembles a horn.
It worked till about a month ago when a bunch of wires that I have to believe the previous owner rerouted( and that go to the brake switch mounted on the brake pedal) , got wrapped around the steering shaft. Now the horn doesn't work. A bunch of other stuff didn't work immediately after it happened, those things are since fixed. Had I known this was going to make the horn not work, I guess I would have honked the horn, and figured out where the sound was coming from. Too late for that now.
The reason that I need to know where the horn is:
The fuse in the elect. box on the drivers side under the hood marked "HORN" is good. But I don't know where the relay is. I guess if someone knows where the relay is, that might solve the problem also.
Ok, next challenge:
The ignition auxiliary switch on the dash is disconnected and/or was disconnected by the previous owner. I plugged the switch back in and it killed the battery. I'm assuming that's why the previous owner disconnected the switch. So I thought well it must be A bad relay. So I went and got a new relay brought it home took apart the same electrical box mentioned above and found that there's two electronic relays and one old-style Mechanical relay. I'm assuming that the mechanical old-style relay is the one that connects both sets of batteries while starting. But when I checked it by putting power to the primary circuit, it clicked, and when I checked for continuity across the big contacts It had continuity, so I have to assume that that works. So now I am wondering what else there is in the circuit that could be put in the draw on the battery and be working correctly. also I checked the dash switch for continuity and it seems to be working fine. Ideas?
