We have a 5.9 Cummins, a 6.7 Cummins and an 8.3 Cummins. the first two take 12 quarts oil engine ouil and my 8.3 takes 20 quarts.
If your engine took 20 quarts, then I would suspect that it is a 8.3. Find the serial number and that will really tell what you have.

My 2000 5.9 ISB takes 16 quarts of oil. 300 HP is the high end for a 5.9 and low end for the 8.3. I agree that the engine serial number and a call to Cummins customer service at 800 343 7357 will clear it up.

Not the easiest coach to find specs for but from the information I've been able to find, it looks like the 2002 Cross Country Elites came with Cummins ISB5.9
