2002 Newmar KSDP Headlight Replacement Search

Need a little help finding headlight replacements for my coach. The numbers on the driver side bulb are as follows. I tried a search using parts and all of the numbers but did not turn up anything. They look similar to what is on a 2002 Lincoln LS if that helps.

L 20-5674 PL HB3 HB4 DOT AIP2 HR98

I tried a quick search and the L 20 5674 matches up with a 99 to 04 Olds Alero. Good luck in your replacement search. --- Tom

Thanks Tom. I turned a an old thread from another 05 KSDP saying theirs also matched up with that model. I found an ebay seller with good feedback offering a set for 86 bucks with free shipping and Rock Auto Parts on the net selling a set for $114 shipped. Not sure if the quality is any different between the 2 sellers but the price is great.

I got these from Headlightsdepot.com

ALERO 99-04 HEADLIGHT SET at HeadlightsDepot.com | Top Quality Headlights at Affordable Prices

They were a huge improvement from the original Depo lights that were installed. The set I got were EagleEye lights, and they were easy to install. The bulbs that were included were not the best, so I replaced them with the Sylvania Ultra lights and now I can see the road at night again.

Be careful when removing the retaining clips and you will be able to reuse them. If your clips are mangled and you need new ones, then these from Amazon will fit.

Got the headlights yesterday from RockAuto.com and installed them today. It was a snap and took about 15 minutes total. It was daytime so I'll check out any adjustments needed later. $48 dollars each with bulbs. Heck of a nice upgrade for the money. Not only will I be able to see the road better at night they look so much better than the tired old ones that were original.

Usually the headlights sold on eBay are copies of the originals and not certified by DOT to be used on the highways even if they carry DOT numbers. Newmar even got stuck one year with the fakes.

Interesting. The reason I bought these from RockAuto (not on Ebay) was they are TYC which is what I had on the coach. The numbers were also exactly the same. Could they be knockoffs...well sure that's possible. Since The headlights that were on my coach when I bought it 2 months ago in Oregon and drove it 2500 miles back to Texas during night and day driving were so fogged over that I had to use high beam when no cars were coming to see the road, I feel like someone just threw me a life raft with these. I do understand the need to be cautious with buying parts that can be inferior to OEM. I used to fly planes for a living and had my own that was a single engine I flew at night and over the water. Now if they fall apart in a year or 2 which is doubtful I may reconsider.

TYC does not make any OE lights.

That said, new, clear, TYC lights will certainly work better than old cloudy ones.

No doubt. I'm curious, does anyone know what brand Newmar uses on NEW coaches. I thought maybe Newmar put the TYC's on mine but maybe the previous owner installed these. He kept receipts for everything including gas fill ups but I did not see any for headlights.

I replaced my headlights 2 years ago. They were from an Headlight Depot also. Bought on EBAY and they still work and look perfect. They do have DOT markings on them but I don't think they were really approved for the 68.00 each I paid for them. The bulbs were included and they are bright and clear. Hope this settles your doubt about quality of your replacement lights.

Thanks for chiming in. I actually was not to concerned about the quality but it's good to know yours are working out. I see you have a 2003 KS. Do you know what brand headlights you replaced? I have a 2002 KS. I see in your Signature your a retired airline pilot. Which airline? I was with Southwest Airlines.

I will have to go up in the attic and check the OEM headlights I kept just in case. I was an original Midway pilot and retired from Spirit. Best wishes.
