2002 Phaeton Widshield Wipers not "Parking" correctly

Hi all - hoping for some help trouble shooting a weird problem on our MH. While driving back from Florida I was running the wipers that had originally started out in the correct parked position (center of the window). We stopped for fuel and when we got back on the road the rain stopped and I shut the wipers off. They stopped at the outside of the windows. Now I cannot get them to stop back in the middle. Not a huge deal as everything seems to work fine otherwise, but they are in the way of seeing out of the mirrors. Anyone have any suggestions on what to look for on this? I have replaced/checked all fuses with NTF. At a loss and it seems the motors are hard to get to.

Thanks in advance for any all suggestions.

Stoney

It would help if you gave the year of your Phaeton.

Do the wipers still wipe the same area as normal when operating? They just park in weird places, right?

I thought the year would show up on the signature. Sorry about that it is a 2002. Yes, everything works fine except for where they stop. I am baffled by this.

There is a bracket mounted on the motor. It is serrated. The bracket sometimes slips. Start the wipers on a wet windshield. (you can use a hose) Turn them off with the wiper switch. Loosen the nut on the wiper motor pull the bracket outward. Position the wipers in the park position. tighten the nut. You are good to go.

This makes sense. i'll give it a try. Just need to find where the wiper motor is located up under there. Seems like it might be hard to get to in the dash.

Access is through the generator slide. You need to be a bit of a pretzel.

Well after some claustrophobia and my body moving in ways I didn't think possible, I was able to loosen the bolt and adjust the wipers to the correct location. There seems to be a bit of play in the entire lever mechanism so that is something I will have to live with. Thank you very much for the info and now on to the next issue :-).

Since it is a house and a truck combination and it bumps down the road at 60 mph, There will be other issues. Just grin and bear it.
