Unhappy 2003 Georgetown 325 no power to recepticals or microwave.

I was using a carpet cleaner in the coach on generator power when power was lost. Generator running, no power to receptacles or microwave or anything running on 120V. Checked breakers and fuses - no problem but noticed no light in converter. . . I guess that is the correct name for it. Any suggestions?

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Did you check the breaker on the generator? Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Are you able to try on shorepower?

Make sure a GFCI isn't tripped. Do you have 120AC anywhere in the coach?
What genset? Most gensets won't stay running if they aren't producing AC.

Converter 120VAC to 12-15VDC for battery/12vdc items
Inverter 12VDC to 120VAC. Typically for use when not on shorepower or genset.
Inverter charger does both

Thanks for the comeback;
Yes, that was one of the first things I did. I noticed that there was no light on in the converter compartment. I am sure I saw one when I checked once before.

I'm not sure where to find the GFCI. If it is in the converter compartment then Yes I checked it. I will have to bring the coach to the house to use shore power. The generator never stopped running but there was no power to the A/C, microwave or wall receptacles.

Many inverters have circuit breakers right on the unit itself. They pop up. Just need to be pushed back down.

A GFCI outlet is just a regular looking 120VAC outlet with a test and reset button. Most likely in the bathroom(s). Often they a tied to other non-GFCI outlets and they all "open" when the fault is sensed.

Did you check the breakers on the generator ?

The GFCIs do not effect the air conditioner.

OK, I plugged in to shore power at the house and I have A/C, microwave etc. but do not have any 110 power from the generator. I have two breakers on the generator, a 20 amp and a 30 amp. The 20 amp is on the 30 amp is off. The coach manual is of no help neither is the Onan manual. I have always run the generator on 20 amp service.

Sounds like a 50 A setup. Reset the the 30 Amp breaker on the generator. They both need to be on to cover both legs of the AC power.

If the generator is 5500 or more watts, both breakers NEED to be on.

30 amps is 3600 watts. A 20 amp breaker is only 2400 watts.

I really thank all who have contributed to my delema. It appears somehow the 30 amp breaker on the gen. was off. I reset it and everything came back as it should. You all are great and I thank you for your concern and help. Keep the greasy side down.
