having trouble with ac in cab area. think it might be the switch. Will not kick on compressor. Anybody know where I can get the ac diagram for chevy unit? thanks. first year rv!

It could be only fuse or a relay. What is the chassis model number?

Workhorse is not a Chevy, so a Chevy a/c diagram won't help.

The usual reason the compressor won't kick on is low freon pressure. There is an interlock built in to prevent the compressor clutch from engaging when the refrigerant is too low. Odds are you have a leak somewhere.

Welcome to irv2.
You may have the Evans AC/Heater unit, here is some information on it. # 1 -- # 2 --- # 3
Some of us installed ball valves on the heater hose into the unit to keep out the hot water in summer of the heater unit portion of combo unit.

The Evans tempcon valve will not prevent the engagment of the compressor. It only controls the flow of coolant to the heater core.

Thanks for your advise everyone. Our first use of this forum. We will check on the Freon situation. Also - this is the Mrs. of the unit..and I do not know the difference between Chevy and GM..lol..

My next question: One of the two radiator electric fans is missing. How important is it to put the 2nd fan back on.

Do you know what your chassis model number is? It will begin with P or W.
That would help in locating the correct fuse/relay location.
The fan is important to maintain proper engine cooling.

Partially true but not relevant here. The 2003 Adventurer is on the Workhorse W22 chassis, which was designed from the ground up by Workhorse and shares nothing with the older P-series chassis that Workhorse bought from Chevrolet. And it uses an Evans Tempcon a/c system.

We once owned an '03 Winnebago Brave. It was on a P30 chassis.

Rather than trying to guess what's wrong with the cab AC, take it to an AC shop for diagnosis & fix. Ours quit working , never did get it fixed, just used the genset & ran the house air. Much more enjoyable.

2nd fan problem: It's there for a reason or Chevy/GM/Workhorse wouldn't have spent the money to put it there. GET IT FIXED!!!
