2004 Tiffin bay door hinges

One of the hinges on a bay door (lift-up style) has opened up to where the door now falls off when it is opened. Has anyone had any luck repairing that style of hinge. The factory says to try and close the gap with a pair of pliers. Before I attempt that, I thought I would ask here.

No. They are heavy "C" type hinges that fit into each other. Sort of like if you curled your fingers on both hands and then put them together, palms facing each other. They run the full width of the bay doors.

They are extruded aluminum C channel type that interlock with each other. I have had the electrical/sewer door separate the hinge once. I was very cold out and the gas lift piston worked slowly as I had moved the door with my hand It unhinged. So now I wait for the pistons to lift the door. The lift pistons may not be lifting properly?
