2005 Safaria Gazelle Dash A/c & Heat fan will not work

My last trip I turned my Chassis A/c on and turned the fan to low, after a bit realized I didn't feel any air blowing. Fan switch didn't work. Turned A/c off as it was working but of course with no air blowing you couldn't feel it.

Checked all fusses and they were good, put a new one in just to see but no better results. Got back home and checked the fan motor itself applied 12 volt supply to it and it worked fine.

After more research found the Fan wires (only 2 one white and one brown with lite green stripe, at least it looks lite green) the white wire connects to the fan (low, med, high) switch, the brown wire connects to the A/c, Heat Switch, which is usually turned off unless I am going to use A/c or Heat. But in tracing the other wires that was a little harder, did find a Dash fan wires low, med, high connected to the radio switch where you can turn the radio on when you are parked. Believe they are for fans that blow on the windshield which I do not have. Have no idea how that all works.

I have thought that it is possible that the A/C & Heat switch maybe bad, but I hate to just start buying and replacing parts until I know that is the problem.

Is there anyone out there that has had the same experience or can add/ share some of there experience with this problem?

Oh I do have a wiring diagram book but it doesn't help at all because it says the this page is a diagram of the Gazelle Dash wire system and shows the fan switch to have 9 wires, mine only has 4. so that is not much help.

Have you tried the unit since and put the fan on high? If not, I would suggest you do so and then turn it down to each fan speed to determine which speeds fail to blow any air. A resistor pack is what is used to reduce voltage to the motor for each speed. If it works on high the motor is good but if it fails on another speed the resistor pack is probably open for that speed. If all speeds do work, the unit may have just froze up since on low not enough air flow was passed across the evaporator to prevent a freeze up situation.

Thanks for the info, I will try putting on high then turning it on. The A/C unit didn't freeze up as I detected no fan early and turned it all off. Since I have inspected the A/C unit and it appears to be fine.

The problem is resolved, as recommended by Mike the RV Wizard, I went back down after tracing all the wiring and disconnecting most of the wires and reconnecting them, turned the switch on high and turned everything else on and it now works. Only thing I can assume was wrong was that one of the wire connections had worked loose (not making a good connection) and when I disconnected and re-connected it (and if terminals needed cleaned I did that too) then did the trick.

Anyway thanks again for the support., I love this irv2.com and the help that all of you provide.
