2006 Damon Astoria 3679??

I am looking at buying a 2006 Damon Astoria 3679. I was hoping I could get some comments from people on what they think of this rv. I currently have a 2000 Fleetwood Discovery 36 ft. Not really unhappy with it but thought maybe something a little newer would be nice. Any comments would be appreciated!

Like your Discovery, The 2006 Astoria 3679 is of the Holy Grail style Class "A" - It's a DSDP - Double Slide Diesel Pusher so it should not be confused with the economy level Damon Daybreak or Hurricane.

To all the Daybreak and Hurricane owners - please don't flame me...these are great rigs too, but like my Outlaw, they are not DSDP's and therefore don't cost as much to keep on the road - right?

And, like the Discovery, the Astoria is not on a bus chassis - but still a very strong Diesel Pusher design, so you're not gonna pay a Prevost price.

In 2006, Damon was using neutral colors inside and out, but fullbody paint was rare. It had a very nice full corner shower and all the modern stuff...except flat screen and/or HD TV's...that came to Damon in 2007 and 2008.

The appliances, systems, plumbing, leveling jacks, etc, were from high quality vendors and 2006 is only 7 years ago, so the rig might be in very good shape.

My opinion is that it coud be a very nice rig, but we all should be smart shoppers...check it over the best you can and best of luck!

I have an '06 Damon Astoria 3595 Pacific Edition, in essence the same coach with one slide and a bit of difference in the layout. The Astorias have the Cummins 300HP ISB and Allison 5 speed MH-2000 trans. They are on a Freightliner raised rail chassis w/air brakes and air ride suspension. Mine rides nice and we both like it. It has tons of storage underneath with plenty on the inside as well.

Damon did a good job with putting some nice amenities into them for the price. Mine has the ultra leather seating everywhere but the dinette, which we're getting ready to recover from fabric to ultra leather type stuff. My old style TV's were changed out to HD flatscreens so the head banger is gone up front thank gawd! I can't speak for the base Astoria but mine has Corian counter tops all around with nice cherry cabs, looks real nice.

Only issue we've had is the inverter/charger bit the dust last year but that wasn't really a big deal, stuff is gonna wear out. Overall we're pretty happy with ours. If you want to know something specific just ask and i'll answer if I can. Here's a pic from Thanksgiving last year, bailed and went to Avila Beach, Ca.

I always thought DSDP meant Dutch Star Diesel Pusher. Huh, you learn something new every day. ;-)

OH MAN!

I was told by a RV salesman that a DSDP was any makers DP's with a salon slide and bedroom slide...now I'm wondering what else did he tell me that was wrong.
