2006 Monaco 40 Rainer IV Exec

Looking to buy a used RV and have looked around for a year.

Boiling down to a 2006 Monaco 40 Rainer IV because of the motor size and length. Of course the quality of a Monaco.

Please give some Pros and Cons on this coach. A very big investment and the 1st one for us.

Greatly appreciate any guidance.

I have a 2005 Safari Panther on the s series chassis. I love it. They call that the BMW chassis of motor homes. I have a 525hp CAT in mine but the ISX is plenty of motor for your motorhome. 2006 should be the multiplex system and there are some concerns with it if you have to reflash a module so you want to find out how to pull the program out of it and save it for the future. Make sure to have it inspected and the fluids tested before purchasing it. Join the monaco website on yahoo and read as many of the forums as possible to learn about things. The executive is a top of the line motorhome and should give you many years of enjoyment. I you have any questions, pm me and I will try to answer them for you.
Steve

I really don't think there are any cons on the make and model of this coach. The only drawback (it wouldn't be for me) is the size. A 40' with a tag will cut into your storage but since this is your first coach, I'm sure it already feels cavernous anyway. Is this the ISX?...if so, it would be a hot rod for sure! If it has been well cared for and shows minimal wear, it will most likely be the only coach you'll ever need or want.

If this is the 600 or 650 ISX there are some reliability concerns, especially with the 650 HP unit. Do a search on the Cummins engine forum here. Several threads there concerning them.

If it was the ISX, I think it would be the 525 for that year.

Yes, is a Cummins ISX with 525 HP.

Greatly appreciate the offer, Steve, for assistance.
