Yes its normal, RV manufacturers buy the chassis then builds their RV on it.

Ditto on the normal. I was confused when we bought our Class A. One paper says 2000 another says 2001. I still don't know what to call it so I just say what the BMV has for it, a 2000.

My 2002 PA is built on a 2001 chassis and reflects as such in the VIN - which is what the DMV will usually go by.

It's very common but from what I've read it's not correct. From what I've read, they are supposed to use the manufacturer name and date that's on the MCO which is issued by the final builder (so it should say 06 Fleetwood) but I think in most cases, DMVs just check the VIN and register it according to that (which would be why you see the chassis manufacturer and the date the chassis was built).

That said I don't really think it makes much different and I believe ours is also registered 'wrong'
