2006 Winnebago Journey 39K

This coach is new to me last year and I've been unable to find out how the coach door is suppose to work. When I open it, about 3/4 open it has a snap/click noise. It will then move back and forth (in the wind) between fully open and 3/4 open... when closing, I need to push it past the resistance at the snap/click position. Is this normal. I know some Monaco's will open and lock into position, requiring one use the door handle to release it to shut it. I'm wondering if the Journey was that way and it's now broken, resulting in the snap/click noise.

There are lots of threads over in the Winnebago owners' forum on this issue and several different solutions. Here's a more recent one that may give you a starting point:

Entry door issues

...but, yes, it is a common problem for Winnebago pushers up to about the 2009(?) models.

We did the strap retrofit like Jeff describes in this post in another thread:

2005 Journey entry door
