2011 Tiffin Phaeton 40 QTH

We are starting to think about moving up to a Class A, with an intention to Full time for a few years.

Came across this unit at the dealership where we bought out trailer. It's my understanding that Tiffin is a good manufacturer, but I am clueless when it comes to used pricing on the models.

It has very low mileage 27,000 KM or about 17,000 miles, which is very low.

Any advice? Or experience with these models? Thx!

We have a 2011 Tiffin and think it's a good rig. Check the Tiffin Owners forum (Tiffin RV network) for tons of information. We've had a few problems but nothing major, and we really enjoy the coach.

However, there are 3 possible problems that you will want to look for: roof rail cracks, slide out floor damage and wet bay floor damage. The 2008-2011 Tiffins are known to have these problems which can be fixed for free by the factory. There is a lot of information on the Tiffin owners forum about this.

Regarding price - that rig probably cost about 200-240K new so I would think it should go for 170 or 180. Check the NADA guide.

Thanks for that info. I think it goes for more than that new in Canada. RV prices in Canada are always higher than in the USA. Why I have no idea! Drives me crazy

2011 Tifin

Only thing I would be concerned about is the 380 HP power plant. I would take it out and give it a good test drive including up the highest hill you can find. That's a big coach with lots of heavy stuff inside so be cautious. Will you be towing because that is also a concern.

That would be quite a haul. Canada to Red Bay, AL. just to get those major problems fixed. I'd keep looking.

380 Cummins should not be a problem. I have a 360 in mine & it runs with the rest of the pack, no problems. We tow a Wrangler unlimited.

Good looking coach BUT I am not a fan of a rear radiator coach. If you have to have any work done you need to go through the floor in the bedroom or from the bottom, side radiator is a big plus. Here are 2 to look at with side radiators.
2007 Country Coach Allure 40ft Quad Slide Tag Axle 400hp ***$159,990*** Allure 470 Series, McKenzie Bridge 400 Quad Model, Big Dynamax 45k Full Air Chassis with Retractable Tag Axle, Big Cummins ISL 400hp Turbo Diesel, Allison 6 Speed Automatic Trans

2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus 40ft Quad-Slide King Bed 400hp 11k Miles ***149,990*** Big Freightliner ZF Full Air Chassis with Independent Front Suspension, Cummins ISL Big Block 8.9 400hp Turbo Diesel with 1200 Ft/Lbs of Torque, Allison 6 Speed Automatic
One other thing, I would look for a pre DEF technology.
