2013 Cummins manual regen procedures no dash switch

Thought somebody might need this so I typed it up.
Cummings in DPF slow mode. Limp mode no power etc.

How do you do a manual DPF regen on a Freightliner with no dpf dash switch?

Park rv in safe place with no trailer connected and nothing within 20 feet of rv. IT WILL GET HOT!!!!

1 start engine and get to running temp.
2 take air brake off then back on
3 locate single wire connection near steering column. Mine was connected to the OBDII socket on the left side of the steering column. Pull red safety tab out. Disconnect wire for 4 seconds. Then reconnect.

DO NOT TOUCH KEY BRAKE OR SHIFTER ETC it will stop the process and you will have to start over.

Engine should idle high and dpf light with thermometer symbol will appear on dash.
It is now doing a Regeneration. Wait till it completes( about an hour) and have a great trip.

Ty,

What were your circumstances that warranted the manual regeneration?

Thanks.

Luckily my rig came with a manual regen switch on the dash. But then again I've never had to use it.
