If you like both floor plans then I think your are going to have to sit down and compare the specs sheets and amenities. You will want the heavier chassis and longer wheel base if there different. If the HP is within 50 then that would probably not make any difference though others may differ. Check for basement storage and interior storage, very important if your are contemplating snow birding or full time. Be sure to compare the amenities such as air conditioners, generators, appliances, house batteries, etc.
After doing a thorough comparison and still not sure, go by feel. Some MH just have a home type feel when you first walk in.
I am very partial to Tiffin, on our second one. Wh have had good luck with both and there reputation for customer service is what started us with them in the first place. I'm sure others are probably happy with their Fleetwods as well.
No matter which one you chose, be thankful your in the position to make that kind of decision.

the tiffin is 10k less ? Go with the Tiffin.
Tiffin has very good quality and they have very good customer service. There are several examples of them fixing items that were found to be a problem in all coaches even after the warranty went out.
I do not want to say anything bad about fleetwoods but it would be an instantaneous decision for me.

We are on our second Tiffin as well. We had an opportunity this fall to go through several Discovery floor plans. While some were pretty innovative, they were nothing compared to our Phaeton. Buy the Phaeton and don't look back.

Discovery has a good owners club. Where any problem questions can get quick answers on the fix.

I own a Fleetwood product and I will replace with a Tiffin. Go visit Red Bay and tour the facility. At times everyone needs a dealership for either warranty or maintenance work. I can not find that with my Fleetwood but I am assured if I have to I can get it done there.

I just buy the Tiffin Phaeton 2013 40 QKH yesterday and I will have it in 2 weeks. I change my Storm 28 F for this one.

Either would be ok, my choice would be the Tiffin. Best get what DW wants. Good luck.

I do like the Discovery and like that with the 40G you can walk-through the bathroom rather than have to walk by the bunks but I don't like how there's only 1 sofa on the 40G and there are almost no roadside windows in front so the Phaeton would be an easy pick for me.
Also from having owned a Fleetwood Pace Arrow before and having looked at many Discoveries before buying our 03 Phaeton, I find that even if I prefer some of the Fleetwood floorplans, the Tiffins are built better.
