2014 Dutchstar 4369 or 2014 Entegra Anthem 42 DEQ

DW and I are within two weeks of one of these.....I need HELP...... which one. Single vs bath and a half is not an issue. I have read that the 2014 Anthem is in the 2014 Mountian Aire class. Need the opinions of each class.

Doug and Renee.

The floor plan the DW likes usually wins.
Download the brochures and compare item to item.
Call both manufacturers with their coach build numbers and ask them for the warranty history.
Good Luck.

It sounds like you could live with either floorplan. Are they both comparable prices?

Our experience is that we had an awesome experience with our '04 Dutch Star for 8 years of our full-timing and traveling constantly. We loved driving mountains, secondary roads and staying in public parks. We boondocked 20 miles back on gravel roads. It held up very well. We bought it because every Newmar owner we talked to highly recommended it. There are a lot of very satisfied Newmar owners out there.

I know nothing about Entegra so can't help out with the decision.

Dutch Star or Entegra

Great choice. I purchased a 2013 Entegra Cornerstone brand new and i sold it in 6 months, if that tells you anything.

IMO you will be OK with either brand.

Owners of the two brands are the most fervent on this forum.

The floorplan and colors the DW likes the most should be the deciding factor. More owners change because they do not like the floorplan than for any other reason.

Both are good coaches. The Entegra is the best when you compare all the features. But as Gordon DeWald posted above, we Entegra owners are "fervent" and for good reason!

Just for the record, I didn't sell because of the floor plan.

Never owned either brand, but IMHO, Newmar builds a better coach.

I would pick the one that has a single fuel source for Aqua Hot, generator and engine.

Good Luck.
Tried to get the warranty, service, and maintenance records from Newmar, but they do not disclose information concerning the previous owner and any work or service completed on the coach....liability concerns. So essentially you are buying a used car "as is" for a QUARTER MILLION DOLLARS......lol. We are requesting the service and maintenance records from the previous owner, you would think for that amount of money everyone would be on board with info sharing!

In the pre-2016 world of coaches, which is where you are looking, the Anthem and the Dutch Star are comparable. Now, with the 2017 models I would put the Aspire as being closer to the Dutch Star than the Anthem. Both brands have excellent reputations so you should be good with either one. As others have said, get the maintenance records and see what may or may not be issues.

Good Luck with your search.

I expect the failure rate is about the same for both manufacturers. I would look at both coaches, see which pleases you eye most for fit and finish, check out the floor plan that fits you best and let DW pick the nicer color.
