2014 Ram 1500 12 volt outlet & fuse

Our new Ram 1500 has two 12 volt outlets, one in front and other in back(quad bucket seats). Both are powered only when the ignition is on and this runs down the battery.

Am I missing another 12 volt location that is battery dependent as this is what I need to use my Brake buddy.

I have been told there is a fuse in an expanded slot to change(keyed to battery) but I don't know where to look to determine if our Ram also has this feature.

Thanks in advance.

Check in the center console, that's where mine is on the Grand Cherokee.

Dedicated line

I ran a dedicated line directly off the battery. Now I am sure my Aux Braking Unit has power.

If you ate going to that extent would out not be the same investment in time to run a 12v line from the coach? That way you would not have to worry about running the battery down. Just a thought.

A bit much!

The TOAD's battery will power my Aux Braking Unit for 2-3 days, as a minimum.

Hi Ron. On our 2014 Ram 1500, I made the one in back always powered by moving the fuse from space 90 to 91. The fuse compartment is located just forward of the battery. Pull the fuse and move it to the right one notch. That fuse holder has 3 slots, a hot slot on either side of the middle one. You'll use the middle slot for either position so I'm presuming that one is the common ground. One side is switched (default) and the other side is always battery powered.

This is explained on page 124 of your User Guide Book.

Hope this is the solution you're looking for.
