2015 Jayco Precept 31ul vs. Thor 34e Windsport

We are pulling the trigger on our first RV in the next week. I would appreciate any feedback on the two RV's listed.

I would also like to hear any feedback on difference in Manufacturer, Jayco versus Thor...

Appreciate the feedback in advance!

2015 Jayco Precept 31ul vs. Thor 34e Windsport

I don't have either one, but have been looking. I have seen the thor, but have yet to see the Jayco. I know Jayco has added a few models to that line. I like that jayco has a Two year warranty and from pictures only, it seems that the Jayco is nicely equipped and I like its layout a little better. Good luck to you and let us know what you choose.

Just do a google search. Type in the make and model and the word "review".
No one makes a perfect coach, so don't let some of these issues scare you off.
Just know ahead of time..
Good luck!

When we seriously started looking for our first RV in September, and the considerations for a 40' 5th wheel quickly nixed, the 31UL was our top pick as we kept looking. We kept coming back to the 31UL, over and over. The Thors just didn't get us excited, nor did the Winnebago Vistas have a floor plan that we really liked, nor did we see anything else that seemed to fit what we wanted new or used......

Then we decided to check out Tiffins and take a closer look at the Fleetwood Bounder. Um, let's say, the budget changed, and we decided if we were going to break it with the Bounder, let's break it completely and get the Tiffin.......

But one of the things that kind of bothered me about the Jayco is that it seemed to us, that Jayco is not really known for class As. Maybe important, maybe not......

Regards!

We had a Jayco parked next to us this week and I thought the same thing. I had to research it and found it was a 31UL with 3 slideouts. The MH looked as if it was sitting on its axles...squatting really low. The 32 foot UL is built on a 18K chassis. This seems much too light for a triple slide MH. I was expecting at least a 20K chassis. I would pass on this just because of the weak chassis.

YMMV!! Fran

My point (whether it was technically correct or not) is that the Jayco "brand" has no strong ties to Class As, vs their C, TT, and 5th Wheel business. If you look for Jayco Class As, you see a small Precept line that is only a few years old.

Ford has owned Aston Martin and Jag but you still would not call the Ford "brand" a luxury car line........... Nor would you normally say a Fiat is an exotic car, but they own Ferrari and Maserati.......
