Unless we are watching the Satellite or DVD player, we turn the spitter box off. No reason to leave it on..... as much as we have used our coach and satellite we are still on our original splitters.
But recently, we had a sudden issue with the satellite feed to at least 2 of the TVs, so I was afraid I had finally cooked one.
I took the lid off the splitter box, and saw the green light going on and off, and I think the red light was acting odd too. I then swapped power supplies which made no difference, but the signal eventually came back in a few minutes. I've then just left the top of the box propped open to provide more ventilation and had no issues since. Maybe it was just heat build up affecting them and having the lid open cooled them off enough - maybe, maybe not, who knows.
In any case, I had thought about adding some ventilation holes for a while, but never did, but I will get around to doing that shortly as soon as I decide where I want to add holes. I will at least add them to the lid of the box.......
Good luck.
