Cool 2017 Phaeton refrain doesn't work on inverter

Owned coach 1 week...took it back for non related repairs. Sat unplugged for 5 days waiting for repairs. when we got it back everything worked but refrig and micro....dead until we plugged in or ran the generator. could the inverter be bad even tho the coach is brand new?????Batteries seem ok.

Five days with everything turned on and no charging then the batteries are likely down to a level where the inverter low voltage cutoff kicked in. You say the batteries appeared ok - what was the actual voltage?

When you left your coach for service did you flip the 12 volt battery disconnect switch to the OFF position?

You should have an inverter display monitor that shows the SOC (state of charge) of your batteries. I suspect that your batteries were run down over the five days the coach was parked.

I would suggest plugging into shore power and bring the batteries to full charge, and then have them tested.

PS - I was typing as vsheetz was posting.

If you had refrig running off the inverter (no shorepower), you would last at most 2 days before batteries are dead.

What does the Magnum controller say your house battery voltage is?

If your batteries are very very dead, you may have to put an external charger on them....or take the coach for a nice long ride so that the engine alternator can begin the charge up process.

Actually he has an on-board three stage charger. Using shore power or the generator will charge the batteries much faster than the engine alternator.

If the house batteries are very very dead, then typically the converter will not begin charging the batteries until they get up to a nominal voltage.

Hence my suggestion to take a drive, the engine alternator doesn't care and is up to about 160 amp output, which is more than than the power supply in the converter puts out.

That can get the initial charge voltage up to where the converter could then finish the job.
