250 cummins diesel problem

I own 1995 freight liner chassis , with a 250 cummings diesel pusher , fleetwood . after setting for 24 hours it loses its prim ,runs for 20 seconds then shuts down (runs out of fuel) have to prime it to get it started the question is , is there a check valve somewhere in the system to hold fuel back . replaced pick up pump did not seem to help any . any advise I would appericate it . to locate check valve

thank you

Had a similar problem and it turned out to be a leaking banjo doohickey. Up on top of the engine. Part of the fuel delivery after the mechanical pump. Could see little bubbles of fuel. It allowed air in and the fuel would gravity drain back into the tank. Mechanic said there wasn't any check valve...

Have delt wit diesels a long time never heard of a check valve but a bleed line... Keep us posted as to what you find

Check your fuel lines, especially any rubber sections, carefully for cracks. At the age of your unit, this is a pretty common complaint when you have a fuel line that is cracked and allowing air into the fuel system. You may need to carefully flex the lines in any suspicious areas to open up the cracks as these cracks can be hard to find otherwise.
