3D Printed Accessories for Older RV

I purchased a 12 year old RV (2004 Tiffin Allegro) last year. As with many older RVs, I find that some things are not working exactly as designed anymore and some parts are hard to find.

I happened to buy a 3D printer a couple of months ago and have found many interesting designs on Thingiverse.com including some items for RVs. One such item is a Dometic refrigerator door holder which attaches to the refrigerator/freezer doors to hold them open so that they can air out while not in use.

I printed a couple and they work great. Come to find out that these were probably provided with the Dometic refrigerator when it was new. But they were nowhere to be found when I bought the RV. I did not even know to look for them. Here are a couple of pictures of the ones I printed.

I never cease to be amazed at what the 3D printers can do!

You could make a fortune making and selling those. Factory ones are blue. This is the best setup and I have not found a dealer that sells them

Hmmm....a fortune????? Well maybe enough to pay for the materials and the adult beverages I consume while printing!

I have seen them for $10 - 13 at online stores. There are other alternatives for keeping the door ajar for about $5.

I've also been finding a 3D printer quite useful.
My RV related designs so far (that I can remember) include display sunscreen, leg extenders for the fold out bed to compensate for slide height, cup holder dividers and GPS mounts.
