It is not long lines we need.. It is a short political rope. NOTE POLITICAL ROPE not real rope.

We need to find a way to stop the oil companies from constantly raising the prices, crying "Shortage shortage" and "HIgh cost hich cost" (we get like 2 percent of our oil from overseas so the price of oil over in OPEC has next to nothign to do with the price at the pump)

What does cause the high pump prices.. Well two things

I recall a few years back reading a sticker on a pump YOU ARE PAYING xx cents per gallon in taxes"

I can recall when gas sold for xx/3 (NO I won't give the xx) or less.

The other thing is "Oil company posts record profits for the umpteenth quarter in a row"

Now for the REST of the story: ExxonMobil posted earnings of $10.65B on revenue of $114B. By my math, that's a profit of 9.3%. Hardly usurious, is it? If you think it is, then take a look at pharmaceuticals, banking, computer software and a number of other industrial sectors.

Obama must of forgot to look in to it in California. Chevron across the street, 4.379 for regular. That's funny, he said he'd look in to it. I'm guessing if he wants to get re-elected he'll have a big list of things he's "looking in to".

In Sonoma County, CA prices have risen 20 cents per gallon in the last 2 weeks, $4.21 at the cheapest stations for regular 3 days ago.

Costco in Santa Rosa went down 5 cents from yesterday. Filled up one car yesterday and one today.

California seems to be one of the first states to raise prices and one of the last to lower them.

Gas is $3.99 here in town, and $3.85 just down the road about 1 or 2 miles. Me thinks the local gas stations are taking advantage of us.

Hovering around $4 here. One of the local supermarkets has a fuel saving deal with your shoppers card. Ours is up to 40 cents off a gallon right now. Not good for diesel and 20 gallon max but it sure helps and we have to eat anyway. The only downside is that the gas stations that participate are about the most expensive in town. It is still way cheaper after 40 cents off. Price Chopper if you have one nearby. Winn Dixie had just started it when we left Florida last month so I don't know how much you can save there.

BTW if you have an Android phone there is a free app called keyring that you scan in or enter all your shoppers cards into and not have to carry them. It works better with the handheld gun than the flatbed scanners.

This is an interesting look at gas prices around the world. I do not know when it was done up, but by the prices in Canada it looks to have been quite recent.
