the extra room and the tag axle make all the difference in the world. Much tighter turning radius helps also. Not as much storage so I just cut down on the stuff I carry.

The only time I've personally seen a penalty for >40' is the Ferry system to/from Nova Scotia and PEI. Over 40' to 60' is another $215, even an inch.(they measure each large vehicle)

No problem with a 43 but if I could find a 40' with a tag, I have never seen one but I think that would be the best of both worlds. Does Newman still make a 40' tag Dutch Star.

Country Coach made a 36 footer with tag. I almost bought one, but went with the 42'.

In 2.5 years of full timing across western canada and US we only found two occasions where anything longer than our 40' would have been a problem.

I don't see an extra 2' would be a problem. If it's a floor plan you like, go for it.

All the Foretravels after 02 that are 40 foot have tags. They even made a few 38s with them. I have a 42 and would not go back. I love the extra bay below and extra storage up top.
