5 Star tune!!

Well - 3,000 miles on our Thor V10 with the 5 Star Tune! At first, MPG took a big hit but the folks at 5 Star asked me to let it settle in a bit more (after the first 1000 miles). I did and Wow - coming through the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia what a difference. Suddenly the gas mileage has gotten back to the 7 - 7.5 I was seeing while running at about 2300 RPMs and 65 MPH.

Real test starts tomorrow as we head into the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming. But right now I am confident that we'll be fine.

Thanks 5 Star.

Followed I-90 across to Sundance and on to Devils Tower. Gotta say MPG hanging right around the same number but wow - pulling the hills into Devils Tower - easy. Strongly recommend that drive your rig without the then do it with the tune!! I am sold. I was ready to return and the folks from 5 Star would have taken it back. Now - no way. MPG is maybe a little better but the ease of pulling some significant hills is amazing.

I would love to pull the trigger on a 5 star for my new coach but fear messing up warranty on the chassis. I doubt Jayco cares but Ford is very touchy about messing with software. BTW - I am only interested in the transmission tune and don't care to modify engine codes. Are there any other brands that deal strictly with transmission??

mowdoc,

Many Ford dealerships are mod friendly. Our tunes are designed to work within Ford's operating specs. We aim to improve the vehicles operation rather than cause stress to it. If you prefer we can tune only the transmission side of your vehicle.
